AutoPrice Adobe InDesign Plugin Automates Product Price Changes

Originally available for QuarkXPress, the InDesign plugin helps to streamline the production and versioning of documents containing financial data.
When it comes to creating long, complex documents containing financial data, such as catalogs, price lists, retail flyers and financial documents, manual price changes can quickly turn into a nightmare. What's needed is the ability to make last-minute revisions to ensure document information is current and accurate. AutoPrice accomplishes this by making it possible to link InDesign documents to any external database of information, either flat-file or ODBC.
The plugin is designed to perform price, picture or text updates for any type of information that can be referenced by a “key value,” such as product number (SKU). AutoPrice works by allowing users to establish “placeholders” within InDesign documents, which are linked to a database file. It provides flexibility by making it possible to link to any range of text or any picture box in a document, thereby avoiding the necessity to restructure a layout to accommodate the links. Also possible is creating multiple versions of a catalog or document from a single source.
