The 21st annual HOW Promotion Design Awards is currently accepting entries.
Formerly known as the Self-Promotion Design Awards, the focus has since broadened from self-promotion to promotion of all kinds. A non-digital contest, actual samples of such documents and objects as annual reports, brochures, catalogs, direct mail, book and magazine covers and interior pages, invitations, announcements, greeting cards, letterhead, logos, packaging, posters, print advertising, calendars, wearables, 3D objects and other projects must be provided. Also accepted are color print-outs of workspaces, signage and other environmental graphic design. Categories now include illustrator, photographer, designer, personal, nonprofit, student, client and the ever-popular miscellaneous.
Eligible work must have been created between January 1, 2007, and March 21, 2008, which is the deadline for entries. The Best of Show Winner will receive a free trip to the 2009 HOW Design Conference, along with an award to be presented at the conference. All winning work will be included in HOW’S October 2008 Self-Promotional Design Annual, with winners receiving a $100 discount to the 2009 HOW Design Conference, as well as a "nifty" certificate.
More information and registration is available on the HOW site.
